(Jacob Bruns, Headline USA) Legendary guitarist Eric Clapton, who became anathema to the leftist Establishment after speaking out against draconian COVID restrictions, helped raise $2.2 million at a recent event in support of rogue Democrat candidate, Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
The two red-pilled counterculture icons—one a classic-rock “god,” and the other political scion of the Camelot era, when classical liberalism reigned supreme—teamed up in Los Angeles at a campaign event designed to raise funds RFK Jr.’s bid to challenge President Joe Biden for the Democratic nomination, Fox News reported
The private concert pulled in $1 million for Kennedy’s campaign and another $1.2 million for the political action committee supporting Kennedy’s presidential bid.
Each ticket for the event ran for approximately $6,600.
Kennedy expressed his gratitude for the “Layla” singer’s generosity.
“I am deeply grateful to Eric Clapton for bringing his musical artistry and rebellious spirit to my gathering in Los Angeles last night,” Kennedy wrote in a press release.
He also noted that Clapton and his music are capable of restoring unity to the American people.
“I sometimes think that in our divided society, it is music rather than any kind of intellectual agreement that has the most potential to bring us together again,” Kennedy said. “Eric sings from the depths of the human condition.”
According to Kennedy, his partnership with Clapton could be a fated union.
“If he sees in me the possibility of bringing unity to our country, it is only possible because artists like him invoke a buried faith in the limitless power of human beings to overcome any obstacle,” he said.
Clapton’s support of Kennedy should come as no surprise given his longstanding opposition to vaccine mandates.
According to a 2021 Washington Times report, Clapton has been an outspoken vaccine skeptic, going so far as to release a lengthy interview on YouTube articulating his opposition to the COVID lockdowns.
His opposition to the tyrannical mandates, however, sent most of his establishment friends into hysterics.
“Nobody I’ve talked to that knows Eric has an answer,” said drummer Jim Keltner, who has known Clapton for 51 years. “We’re all in the same boat. We’re all going, ‘I can’t figure it out.’”
Keltner also blamed the rock star for not concerning him enough with other people’s opinions.
“It’s something that he brought upon himself,” Keltner said. “And so I’ve been hoping and praying really, that he can figure out a way to, I don’t say get out of it, but to make it go away somehow so that it doesn’t ultimately interfere with the music.”
