(Dmytro “Henry” Aleksandrov, Headline USA) Anti-Second Amendment Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham, D–N.M., used recent Maine shootings to demand even more gun control in her state.
Last month, Grisham signed an executive “public health” order to ban guns, violating the constitutional right of Americans to carry a firearm in her state.
This order which was issued on Sept. 8, 2023, suspended the open and concealed carry of firearms in the state’s largest city of Albuquerque for 30 days.
On Sept. 13, 2023, a U.S. District Judge blocked the order, but Grisham was still able to take away some rights of Americans in her state by limiting the ban on concealed carry to parks and playgrounds. The reworked order was allowed to stay.
However, Grisham was still not satisfied with the result, which resulted in her calling for more restrictions after the deadly Wednesday shooting at two locations in Lewiston, Maine.
“I’m praying for the families & friends of the victims in the Maine shooting and for the quick apprehension of the suspect. We need to know how this person had access to this firearm and enact appropriate common-sense gun laws to prevent these tragedies. This. Cannot. Continue,” she wrote in her statement on Twitter.

As expected, Grisham didn’t clarify which gun controls would be “appropriate” at this point.
In the comment section of her Twitter statement, people criticized Grisham and her statement.

Others started asking questions regarding the vague statement.

People also criticized her jumping at the first opportunity to promote banning guns, especially because this first opportunity was the murder of innocent people.
