N.M. Town Becomes Sanctuary for Unborn, Classifies Abortion as Murder, Despite Baby-Killing Gov.

‘... abortion is now classified as murder and outlawed within Hobbs city limits...’

(Dmytro “Henry” Aleksandrov, Headline USA) The City Council of Hobbs, New Mexico, unanimously voted last week to become a sanctuary city for the unborn as a counterattack to Democrat Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham’s desire to kill babies in the wombs.

“Overwhelming support for and passage of the ordinance mean abortion is now classified as murder and outlawed within Hobbs city limits,” The Federalist reported. “It also means that any blue politicians or abortion facilities that try to go against the city’s wishes could face an uphill legal battle.”

Unsurprisingly, the pro-abortion Lujan Grisham opposed the vote by calling the architects of the ordinance “out-of-state extremists.”

After the Supreme Court abolished Roe v. Wade, Lujan Grisham signed an executive order that would force taxpayers to pay $10 million out of their pockets to develop an abortion facility in Doña Ana County that shares a border with El Paso, Texas.

A couple of months before signing the executive order, she also signed another one to protect abortionists from getting prosecuted for murdering unborn babies.

“As more states move to restrict and prohibit access to reproductive care, New Mexico will continue to not only protect access to abortion but to expand and strengthen reproductive health care throughout the state,” Lujan Grisham said.

However, nearly 40,000 people who live in Hobbs and people who live in the nearby city of Clovis decided to oppose the governor’s abuse of pro-abortion fiats by introducing ordinances that are designed to defend the lives of unborn babies.

“We hope this sends the message to our state legislature that there are pro-life cities out there and we want to self-determine on this issue,” Clovis Mayor Mike Morris said shortly after voting to advance the ban.

If Clovis passes the ordinance, it will join Hobbs and many other towns all around the country that decided to push back against Democrats’s desire to kill innocent human beings.

“Between Governor Abbott’s resounding defeat of Robert Francis O’Rourke to four more municipalities joining over fifty towns with existing sanctuary city for the unborn ordinances, this is an exciting time for Texans as we work to end abortion,” Texas Right to Life President Dr. John Seago said.

“Additionally, as the abortion industry looks to target Texas women from just outside our borders, it is equally exciting that Hobbs, New Mexico has joined the fight and passed the ordinance to keep the desperate abortion industry out of their city limits.”
