(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) Calls for the resignation of Ronna Romney McDaniel, the chairwoman of the Republican National Committee, resounded across Twitter following disappointing losses for the GOP in the 2023 elections.
The calls were triggered by a series of notable GOP losses, most notably in Virginia, where Gov. Glenn Youngkin’s ceded control of the House of Delegates. Similarly, in Kentucky, the defeat of Daniel Cameron in the gubernatorial race added to the growing discontent.
Some prominent Republicans and conservatives directly blamed McDaniel for the shortcomings. Vivek Ramaswamy, the tech mogul vying for the GOP nomination for president, minced no words as he criticized McDaniel’s tenure during the third presidential debate.
“We’ve become a party of losers… since Ronna McDaniel took over as chairwoman of the RNC in 2017 we have lost 2018, 2020, 2022, no red wave, that never came,” he said on Wednesday night.

“We got trounced last night in 2023 and I think that we have to have accountability in our party,” he added. “For that matter, Ronna if you want to come up on stage tonight. You want to look the GOP voters in the eye and tell them you resign… I will turn over my time to you.”
John Solomon, editor-in-chief of Just the News, echoed similar sentiments during a conversation with Steve Bannon, calling on former President Donald Trump to demand the resignation of McDaniel.
“Donald Trump grew up in the era of New York dominated by George Steinbrenner. When his managers didn’t perform, he fired them, because he wanted to get to the World Series,” Solomon said. “Republicans keep giving Ronna McDaniel a promotion. They keep moving her on. They keep hiring her for another season.”

The chorus of disapproval extended to conservative cable news host Monica Crowley, who took to Twitter to question McDaniel’s leadership.
“What, exactly, does Ronna McDaniel do, besides lose? The only thing she SHOULD do is RESIGN. Effective immediately,” she said.
Conservative attorney DC Draino joined the criticism. “Tonight is yet another reason Ronna Romney McDaniel should resign in disgrace She does nothing except help the GOP lose,” he wrote on Twitter.
