Soros’s investment management firm and other investors entered into a deal to acquire Vice Media, which is ready to collapse due to bankruptcy, according to the Washington Free Beacon. Buying the propaganda outlet will only increase Soros’s enormous influence in left-wing politics and media.
Soros Fund Management and Fortress Investment Group are closing a deal to take over the media company for $400 million. In 2017, before it turned woke, Vice was valued at $5.7 billion. However, now the company was considering filing for bankruptcy as it struggled to maintain audience share and valuation for its leftist propaganda.
“Vice Media Group has been engaged in a comprehensive evaluation of strategic alternatives and planning,” company leaders wrote. “The company, its board and stakeholders continue to be focused on finding the best path for the company.”
According to the Beacon, the investment firms were the top lenders to Vice, which has struggled to turn a profit in recent years due to its leftist politics.
If Soros gains control over Vice, it could significantly bolster his already expansive footprint influencing mainstream media and government policies with an aggressively leftist push. In 2021, Soros formed an organization called Good Information, Inc., which acquired Courier Newsroom, a group that spreads Democrat propaganda on bogus websites trying to pass as legitimate outlets. The same year, Soros gave $500,000 to Media Matters for America, another trumpet of the leftist propaganda.
Aside from the media world, Soros also has a deep influence in Democrat politics. His Open Society Foundations donated to Democrats in Wisconsin, which helped them to capture the state Supreme Court in a recent race. Soros also has been funding the election campaigns of leftist politicians for years, including dozens of progressive prosecutors across the country.
