(Joshua Paladino, Headline USA) Californians aiming to recall George Soros-funded Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascón have filed a lawsuit against the county registrar for improperly rejecting valid signatures, the New York Post reported.

Los Angeles Registrar–Recorder Dean Logan said the recall campaign failed to collect the requisite 566,857 signatures because almost 90,000 signatures came from unregistered voters and 45,000 from the same voter who signed the petition twice.
After reviewing the invalidated signatures, the Gascón recall campaign stated that Logan’s office wrongly rejected about 80,000 signatures.
Officials called the signature-verification process “seriously flawed, resulting in substantial errors, [and] the wrongful invalidation of many valid signatures,” according to a press release.
Logan’s office also set the signature requirement—566,857—too high because of “bloated voter rolls,” according to the recall camaign.
California determines the recall signature threshold based on a percentage of the number of registered voters, but if the state does not clean its voter rolls, then the requirement will be too burdensome.
The recall campaign also said the county registrar’s office will not let them investigate the signature-verification process.
”These extremely disturbing findings necessitate a complete and timely review of all invalidated signatures,” the campaign said in the statement. “This review is currently being obstructed by the Registrar’s office.”
The recall against Gascón, who took office in December 2020, began because he implemented soft-on-crime policies, such as eliminating cash bail, rejecting the death penalty in all cases, and refusing to try minors as adults.
